Controls

General

In Xperify we have integrated an intuitive Control Panel, specially designed to guide groups seamlessly through the experience. This powerful tool provides an interface that puts supervisors in control during the visit.

Managing the active scenario

  1. Open the control panel via the button at the top right of the dashboard

  2. Choose which exhibit you would like to manage.  ‘Every exhibit’ is active by default

    1. An overview of all available key points will be displayed

    2. The currently active key point will be highlighted

Changing of a key point

There are two options to changing a key point:

  1. Use the previous/next button. The next or the previous key point is activated

  2. Enter the desired key point number in the provided field and click ‘go’. Your scenario will immediately jump to the entered key point

Pausing a key point

A key point is assigned a ‘duration’. When the time has passed, the key point will automatically switch to the next key point.
If you would like to avoid this, you can pause the key point. This stops the countdown clock of the key point and will no longer automatically switch to the next key point. In order to reactivate the clock, press play.

Remark: you cannot see how long a key point will remain active at the moment

Tip: the ‘duration’ is often set to the maximum (23h) to prevent a key point from unexpectedly switching to the next key point

Reset flow

You can restart at key point 1 by using the ‘reset’ button

Refresh browser

You can perform a refresh of the browser of the active exhibits via the button 'refresh browser'.

Reload content

The active exhibits will restart their application, whereby new content will possibly be downloaded

Controlling devices per keypoint

WARNING: This option is by default not available in Xperify. If you are interested in using this feature, please contact us.

By enabling this button you can navigate through your scenario with multiple people that have multiple control panels open.

image-20241007-125208.png

The following example will try to explain what this feature does:

Let’s say you have a scenario with 10 keypoints and 2 devices. The first five keypoints show a number from 1 - 5 on the first device and the last five keypoints show a number from 6 to 10. On the first 5 keypoints we have only set the application on the first device, on the last 5 we have only set it on the second device.

In this scenario you have 2 people, guides for example, each with their control panel open. Guide 1 stays on keypoint 1 with his device (device 1) and guide 2 wants to start from keypoint 6 with his device (device 2).

Without this feature enabled, if guide 2 were to go to the next keypoint, he would be changing the content on the device of guide 1.

When both guides have this feature enabled, both of them can go to the next keypoint, previous keypoint or jump to a keypoint without influencing the other guide/device. As long as your keypoint does not have an application linked to the device of the other guide, you can split up your scenario into multiple sections, allowing multiple people to navigate through them with the control panel.

It should be noted that if your keypoints have durations that this will not work. This feature only supports keypoints with a default “infinite” duration
