The Device Management System within our Xperify platform is a crucial component that allows organizations to have control over all hardware and device-related aspects in their interactive experience center. This system is designed to optimize efficiency, management and performance.

Here is a detailed explanation of how it works:

Location Management

We start by organizing devices based on their physical locations. This means that you have an overview of all your locations or different rooms within your experience center.

Device management

Within each location you can see a list of the devices present. Each device is accurately identified and labeled. We reach further than just PCs and screens. Consider a wide range of controllable devices, from smoke machines, screen lifts, doors and curtains to LED strips and spotlights. The platform is designed to integrate and streamline all aspects of the interactive experience where device actions are customized.

Location and device status management

You have the option to activate or deactivate locations, which is useful for things like opening hours or specific events. For individual devices, you can perform different actions such as start, stop, reload content, restart, refresh, and so on.

Presets

Settings for the devices are determined under the menu item “presets”. This could be, for example, the color settings of LED lighting, the different modes of a roller blind (open, half, closed), etc.

Preview

A notable feature of our DMS is the “Preview” button for each device. This allows you to view in real-time on your own computer what is currently displayed on the screen of that specific device. This is useful to ensure that the content is displayed correctly and to identify any problems immediately.

Steps to use the preview function:

You can open an online preview in your browser for each type in your exhibit

1. Click on the ‘preview’ icon of the desired type

2. The preview opens in a new tab

Attention: if your application starts with a video, you must click in your browser during loading. Otherwise, Chrome will not load the video.

 Set resolution on own laptop screen:

1. Click on the ‘preview’ icon of the desired application

2. The preview opens in a new tab

3. Click ‘right’ on the opend window

4. Choose ‘inspect’

5. A new popup ‘DevTools’ opens

6. In the top: you can find the dimensions

7. Change the dimensions to the correct resolution.

Attention: if you don’t see the dimensions in the top: Click on the icon in the left corner of the ‘DevTools’

Detail info about the device actions

You can start or stop the entire exhibit.

• In order to start, press the green ‘start exhibit’ button

• In order to stop, press the red ‘shut down exhibit’ button

You can also control each type within an exhibit in a physical space separately.

1. Click on the ‘commands’ icon, next to the type you would like to control

2. Start

   • Start the computer

3. Stop

   • Shut down the computer

4. Reload

   • Reload Xperify (without download)

5. Reboot

   • Reboot the computer

6. resetContent

   • Removes all content present in the db.js and clears the db.js. After that everything will be picked up again in the background and refresh

7. checkContent

   • Download all content in the background. When the download is complete, the app will refresh

8. refresh

   • The app will refreshen

9. Maximize

   • If the app is minimized, you can put the app back on the screen fullscreen

10. Minimize

    • Put the app in the start bar instead of fullscreen on the screen

11. Mute

    • Will turn off all sound on the computer

12. unmute

    • Will turn on all the sound on the computer
